Movement of pain...
Sometimes the pain feels as if it has moved to a different area. The body tends to feel pain where it is strongest, therefore once the pain of the treated area is alleviated, other pre-existing pain areas may present.
Heat or warmth...
This is also a reaction to greater circulation. To alleviate the burning sensation apply heat. This will accelerate the healing and alleviate the burning. DO NOT APPLY ICE
Greater circulation...
In some cases this may resemble the tingling feeling one experiences when a limb has fallen asleep and the blood rushes back in. This feeling may continue for two-three days as the body heals itself.
Accelerated wound healing...
If a scab forms too quickly and you have heat or pus build up under it, simply apply warm water to loosen the scab. As any build up releases you will continue to experience accelerated healing in that area. Wounds should be treated two days running and then every 3rd day thereafter until a full healing has occurred.
Improved movement...
If this is the case – do not move or exert yourself differently than prior to treatment. When and if the pain returns it should do so at a lower level...unless you over-stimulate the area as stated above.
Lower pain levels...
Most people feel a pain level reduction of 3 - 4 levels. Cold laser can create an analgesic effect (like taking an aspirin) that masks pain while the body heals itself. It will eventually wear off. If the original pain area is over-stimulated, the now over-stressed area can create more pain. Continue with any meds you are taking and treat the area gently. When your pain returns it will do so at a lower level.
Nothing...
3% of people have no reaction at all to the laser therapy. |
